Advisor KNOW HOW are opportunities for campus-wide faculty and staff academic advisors at UNI to develop or enhance their knowledge with academic advising as well as student persistence and success! Offered throughout the academic year, each session will focus on a specific topic/content based upon one of the three NACADA Academic Advising Core Competencies areas presented in an environment focused on demonstration, engaged/hands-on, or discussion based learning.

Running “What If” Reports in Campus Solutions
Original Presentation Date: October 2, 2023. We will learn how to create simulation Advisement Report Types for currently enrolled undergraduate students, as well as students prior to attending UNI Orientation. This is an advanced / technical session where we will look behind the curtain of student records, admission records and simulations of majors, minors, certificates and courses to take our work with students to a new level.
Managing Your Advising Workload Through Advisor Reports (MyAdvisees) Workspace
Scheduled Presentation Date: October 18, 2023. Advisor Reports (My Advisees) workspace is a complement to Advisor Center in MyUNIverse. Through this workspace, an academic advisor can run reports specifically for their assigned students to assist in managing their caseload and work as an academic advisor. In this 45 minute session, we will walk through the diverse reports available to academic advisors and how you might engage with students on topics related to: Enrollment Status - including full-time/part-time | Registration - including holds and foreign language requirement | Grades/Academic Standing - including mid-term/final grades, cumulative and major/minor (plan) GPA, and academic standing
Course Demand in Report Center - Undergraduate Semester Planning &Persistence

Whether you want to plan for the right slate of classes for next year’s Schedule of Classes, or want to proactively connect the right students to the classes they need, this Advisor KNOW HOW session on Course Demand is for you. Department Heads, advising coordinators, college administrators and others will learn how UNI Course Demand reports based on aggregate advisement report data can help to make more informed decisions and intentionally support students in achieving academic goals.
