Academic Advising Core Foundations Program
The Academic Advising Core Foundations Program aims to strengthen the essential knowledge and functions of academic advisors across the campus. This pilot program for the 2024-25 academic year includes three (3) one-hour sessions, each focusing on the advisement report. These sessions are designed to be timely, aligning with key points in the semester.
The core foundations of academic advising include:
- Utilizing the advisement report for academic advising
- Understanding policies/procedures related to academic advsing
- Using the scheduling/registration components of the student information system (SIS)
- Engaging with students in the academic advising process
- Referring students to the appropriate academic advising/student success resources
