News/Notes for Undergraduate Academic Advisors: Supporting Students at Midterms | Adding 2nd Half Semester Classes for Spring 2026 | 2026 Statewide PTSD/Suicide Prevention Conference

Supporting Students at MidTerms
  • Mid-term/first half of the semester ends on Friday, March 13, 2026.
  • Encourage students to meet with you—or ask them directly during individual meetings—if they’re experiencing challenges in any of their classes, such as missing class, not completing assignments, seeming disengaged or ‘lost,’ or struggling to meet course expectations.
  • Do you have a student who appears suddenly withdrawn or depressed, has stopped attending class, may pose a risk to themselves or others, has experienced a traumatic event, or has shared needs that go beyond your role or expertise? Please fill out a Student Concern form to the Dean of students.
  • Mid-Term Grades
    • Can be submitted by course instructors starting on Monday, March 2, 2026 through Wednesday, March 25, 2026 by 1:00 p..m.
    • Mid-term grades can be viewed by the student and an academic advisor when submitted by a course instructor.
    • Consider reaching out to students with deficient grades.  For most this is a D or F; however, depending on admissions and/or graduation requirements for the major, may be a higher grade.
    • How can an academic advisor view grades for their assigned advisees?
      • All Assigned Advisees Report
        • Go to "Advisor Reports (My Advisees)" in the Reporting tab in MyUNIverse
        • Run the "Mid-Term Grades" report in the Acad Standing/Grades "Assigned" folder.
      • Individual student's Student Center
        • In the individual's Student Center, go to "Grades" in the Other Academic Information drop down menu
        • Choose the "Mid Term Grades" tab for the Spring 2026 semester
