First Week of Semester Hours - Advising Centers
Wilson College of Business - Office of Professional Distinction
- The Office for Professional Distinction (OPD) in the Wilson College of Business will provide walk-in appointments for students during the first week of classes at the following times:
- Tuesday, January 20 - Friday, January 23, 2026 and Monday, January, 26, 2026 | 8AM -12PM and 1PM - 4PM

- Tuesday, January 20 - Friday, January 23, 2026 and Monday, January, 26, 2026 | 8AM -12PM and 1PM - 4PM
- If a student or advisor cannot add an open business course to a student's schedule due to an error message, please do not override/enroll them in the class. Send to the OPD for assistance.
- Students can also email the office directly with questions at opd@uni.edu. Message will be routed to an advisor for a response as quickly as possible.
College of Education Advising & Teacher Education Success (CATS)
- The advising team in the College of Education Advising & Teacher Education Success (CATS) Office will provide drop-in meetings during the first week of classes at the following times:
- Tuesday, January 20 - Friday, January 23, 2025 | 8:30AM-12:00PM and 1:00PM-4:00PM
- In Person: Schindler Education Center (SEC) 151 | Zoom through this link (http://uni.zoom.us/my/teacheradvising)

- These appointments will be first come, first served and will be geared towards registration & Spring semester class related questions.

Academic Dates to Note:

- Thursday, January 20, 2026 by 4:30 p.m.
- First Half-Semester: Last day to Add course for credit without Departmental approval
- Monday, January 26, 2026 by 4:30 p.m.
- Full Semester: Last day to Add course without Departmental approval
- First Half-Semester: Last day to Add course for credit. Approved Academic Student Request required after this date.
- First Half-Semester: Last day to Drop course with No Report
- First Half-Semester: Last day to Change course to or from Audit
- NOTE: Students can only make one change per course to or from a non-graded basis. Once a change has been made the student cannot again change that course to or from non-graded credit. Please complete the online form to request this change.
- Thursday, January 20, 2026 by 4:30 p.m.

- Help them Pivot with Purpose by referring them to the Office of Academic Advising. Advisors offer personalized support to help students explore:
- Major, minor, and certificate options | Reasons for changing majors (e.g., lack of interest, career goals, academic challenges) | Self-assessments like FOCUS 2 or Strong Inventory | Goal-setting and decision-making strategies
- Encourage students to schedule an appointment or complete the Academic Discuss Your Major Options Request Form.

- As a faculty or staff member, you can complete this referral form to start the outreach to a student considering changing their major.
