Searching for UNIFI Classes & Experimental Courses

  • All UNIFI courses should appear in the Schedule of Classes search as Course Attribute "UNI Foundational Inquiry" and its Course Attribute Value type.

UNI Foundational Inquiry Snip

  • Periodically, new UNIFI options are added mid year and offered in the spring semester.
    • An example of an added class in UNIFI for the Spring 2026 semester is CRIM 3159 Get Rich Quick Schemes.
      • Please note that experimental courses will end in xx59, such as CRIM 3159.
  • Since there may be multiple courses with the same experimental number, but not all of them will satisfy the same requirements, we do not list experimental courses directly as viewable options on the advisement report.
  • However, once a student enrolls in an experimental course that does satisfy a UNIFI requirement, it should automatically appear in the correct UNIFI learning area.
  • For Spring there are two CRIM 3159 classes:
    • CRIM 3159 Get-Rich-Quick Schemes satisfies the UNIFI Responsibility learning area requirement
    • CRIM 3159 Cybercrime and Society is not a class that satisfies a UNIFI requirement.
Is Your Student Questioning their Current Major?
  • Help them Pivot with Purpose by referring them to the Office of Academic Advising. Advisors offer personalized support to help students explore:
    • Major, minor, and certificate options | Reasons for changing majors (e.g., lack of interest, career goals, academic challenges) | Self-assessments like FOCUS 2 or Strong Inventory | Goal-setting and decision-making strategies
  • Encourage students to schedule an appointment or complete the Academic Discuss Your Major Options Request Form.
  • As a faculty or staff member, you can complete this referral form to start the outreach to a student considering changing their major.
