Summer/Fall 2026 Semester Course & Registration Information: Public Health Courses

Upcoming Deadline Reminder: The last to to drop a full semester course with a "W" or change to or from credit/no credit is Tuesday, April 14, 2026 by 4:30 p.m.
 
Summer 2026: Public Health Courses
  • The Department of Nursing & Public Health is offering two Public Health (PH) courses this Summer 2026.
    • PH 2520-60 Maternal and Infant Health (6-week June/July session)
      • Satisfies a UNIFI Human Condition (Domestic) learning area requirement
      • This course provides an overview of maternal and child health concepts, issues and trends. Topics covered include conception, pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and public health, prevention, and epidemiological issues in maternal and infant health.
    • PH 1101-60 Introduction to Public Health (4-week May session) | PH 1101-61 Introduction to Public Health (4-week June session)
      • Satisfies a UNIFI Responsibility learning area requirement
      • This course provides an introduction to the public health activities concerned with the protection and care of the community; survey of the major specialties and populations of interest in the public health field; and exploration of ethical issues related to public health.

  • Help them Pivot with Purpose by referring them to the Office of Academic Advising. Advisors offer personalized support to help students explore:
    • Major, minor, and certificate options | Reasons for changing majors (e.g., lack of interest, career goals, academic challenges) | Self-assessments like FOCUS 2 or Strong Inventory | Goal-setting and decision-making strategies
  • Encourage students to schedule an appointment or complete the Academic Discuss Your Major Options Request Form.
  • As a faculty or staff member, you can complete this referral form to start the outreach to a student considering changing their major.
