    • The new Academic Advisor Portal is a centralized point for campus-wide UNI faculty and staff academic advisors, as well as student success partners, for information and resources to enhance work with students and further expand professional development.

  • Office of International Engagement Coaching for International and Multilingual Student
    • ​​​​Do you have an international or multilingual advisee who is struggling at midterms? Let them know that OIE Coaching is here to support them!
    • Office of International Engagement coaching is for international, multilingual, or a non-native English speaking students who need help with speaking, grammar, writing, and other academic skills.
    • They can make an appointment or check out our website. Email oiecoaching@uni.edu for more information.
       
  • Summer 2023 Social Work Courses
  • The Social Work department has the following courses available for students in Summer 2023.  All classes are offered online:
    • SW 1001 Intro to Social Work and Social Services
      • Includes a 30 hour volunteer experience requirement
    • SW 2091 Practice with Individuals
      • Prerequisite is SW 1001; however, a student who is interested in taking this course without the prerequisite should contact Jenny Becker for approval.
    • SW 4164 Human Behavior and the Social Environment
      • Prerequisite is a biology course;  however, a student who is interested in taking this course with a non-biology course should contact Jenny Becker for approval.
  • Guided Independent Study (GIS) courses will also be offered in Summer 2023  taught by retired Social Work faculty member Dr. Katherine van Wormer.  Go to the GIS website for more information and for how to enroll.  Please note that GIS classes can be enrolled in at any time and do require a separate upfront tuition payment:
    • SW 4164 Human Behavior and the Social Environment
    • SW 4171 Addictions Treatment
    • SW 1041 Global Social Work 
       
  • Recommend a Student for Panther Ambassadors
    • The Office of Admissions is currently recruiting new members of Panther Ambassadors for next fall and would like your help! Panther Ambassadors provide campus tours, student panels, and play a major role in helping future Panthers find their next home here.
    • Panther Ambassadors are a select group of volunteer UNI students who share their experiences on everything from academics to student life and provide a personal outlook on the University. Ambassadors assist in the recruitment of diverse classes of future UNI students that represent all academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, gender, sexuality, abilities and geographic backgrounds.
    • Applications close Saturday, April 1, 2023. Please send an email to Janine Baeza if you would like to nominate a student to be a Panther Ambassador or feel free to share the application with them: https://admissions.uni.edu/panther-ambassadors
