Information/Dates to Note for Academic Advisors

  • New Spring 2024 undergraduates to UNI:  Students who have not submitted final official transcripts will have an Admissions Hold placed on their registration for the Fall 2024 semester in the next few weeks.
    • Students will be notified of this hold and academic advisors should encourage submission of official transcripts as soon as possible.
  • Financial Aid: The FAFSA and UNI Scholarship deadline is now February 15, 2024. 
  • Connections and Rise Surveys: The Connections survey will be available for new to UNI students and the RISE survey for third (3rd) semester students for completion between Monday, February 5 and Thursday, February 15, 2024.
  • Summer/Fall 2024 Registration: Term activation will begin at the end of February.
    • Monday, March 4 is the anticipated Schedule of Classes release date.
    • Advisor Holds will be placed on students between term activation and the date of the Schedule of Classes release.
    • Summer/Fall 2024 Advance Registration will follow this schedule:
      • Monday, March 25 - Grads & Seniors
      • Wednesday, March 27 - Juniors
      • Monday, April 1 - Sophomores
      • Friday, April 5 - Freshman
      • Wednesday, April 10 - Unclassified
         
Legacy Scholars
  • The Honors & Scholars program is accepting Fall 2024 nominations for Legacy Scholars - the cohort-based, two-year program designed to :
    • Help students discover their fullest potential beyond a four-year degree.  Our program 
    • Address individual needs while providing a sense of community among peers, staff members, and faculty.  
    • Help establish milestones to guide students through the graduate school application process.  
    • Offer a brave space where dreams are created and future legacies are shaped.
  • What student would make a good candidate?
    • Junior-standing or the Fall 2024 semester with plans to graduate Spring 2026 and pursue graduate school within one year following
    • Strong academic potential from an underrepresented background, and/or eligible for federal Pell Grant, and/or a first-generation college student.
  • How can you help?
    • Nominating students you believe would be ideal candidates for this program!  Nominations will be accepted through Friday, February 9th
    • Attached (in pdf file) is a student profile of program graduate, Emma Pellegrino. She talks about the many ways Legacy Scholars was able to help her grow and prepare for the Molecular and Environmental Toxicology PhD program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
