News/Notes for Undergraduate Academic Advisors: Directory of Referral Resources 2025-26 | When are HS Transcripts Required for Transfer Students? | Fall 2025 Career Fair | Office of International Engagement Academic Coaching

Directory of Referral Resources 2025-26
  • The Directory of Referral Resources 2025-26 serves as a guide for faculty and staff to refer undergraduate students to the appropriate individuals and offices related to academic programs and student success.
    • The Academic Program Area identifies individuals to contact within academic program areas based on majors, minors, certificates, areas of focus, or research specializations.
    • The Student Services Enhanced Guide offers comprehensive details about student success offices, including the services provided, types of students to refer, and the best ways to connect a student.
When are HS Transcripts Required for Transfer Students?
  • Per Department of Education regulations, UNI is required to have the student's highest earned degree (i.e., high school transcript or AA/AS/AAS) on file.
  • The Office of Admissions requires a high school (HS) transcript from all transfer students to verify completion of the foreign language requirement.
  • If a student has earned an associates degree and confirms they did not complete a foreign language in high school, the request for the HS transcript will be removed from the student's checklist.
    • High school transcripts are required for:
      • Transfer students who do not have an associate's degree
        • These students must submit a high school transcript in order for financial aid to be released.
    • High school transcripts are not required for:
      • Transfer students who have earned an associate's degree (AA/AS/AAS)
      • Students with 60 or more transferable college credits
        • Please note: the 60-credit policy is new to us this semester. Some students with 60 credits may still have a high school transcript listed on their checklist in error.
  • For questions regarding a specific student and the requirement for a high school transcript, please contact the Office of Admissions at 319-273-2281 or admissions@uni.edu.
